A counsellor or a therapist is a registered professional whose work involves building a trusting relationship with the client. I work collaboratively with my client to identify his or her problems, goals, strengths and sources of empowerment. Throughout this process, clients can develop a better understanding of themselves, including their patterns of thought, feeling, and behaviour. Most importantly, your counsellor or therapist should be someone you can trust and feel comfortable confiding in.

Mediation is a voluntary process wherein parties work through their differences collaboratively with the assistance of a professionally-trained and neutral third party. Mediators are specially trained to assist parties with issues of child custody, access, child support and preparing plans of care, and to help people set aside their differences and resentments toward each other, and instead focus on positive energy and the best interest of their children.
